A new update from something that happened a few days ago…haha…oops….anywho… Nayoung 언니 had tickets to an orchestra concert, and graciously invited me to the event! The theme for that concert was Bach. I can honestly say I’ve been to quite a few orchestra concerts, but I think this one will particularly stick in my head for several reasons:

1) The conductor was playing the harpsichord, AND conducting at the same time! I’ve seen that in a drama once, but never in real life! It was really interesting. I don’t know if that’s a good idea because in some ways I thought the conductor and the orchestra was disconnected…but, it was neat to see how the conductor controlled the orchestra.

2) For one of the pieces, it was my first time seeing 5 violins, 1 viola, 2 cello, 1 bass, and 1 harpsichord play together at an orchestra concert. Once again, the conductor was playing the harpsichord, while conducting. It felt like I was watching a mini concert. I forgot how expressive music can be. By watching the mini orchestra perform, the way the musicians were using their faces, and bodies to portray the music was great to see. I think what helped me realize this was the fact that the size of the orchestra was small.

3) It was also my first time watching a flute soloist! The flautist was amazing! The flute didn’t sound screechy or airy at all. The sound he was making was very clean, and crisp and it was almost refreshing to listen to!

I was very thankful to Nayoung 언니 for taking me with her to see this!

“Men In Black III”
I was expecting a bunch of cheese and comedy overload. But, I thought everything flowed really well, and the storyline was pretty good. I thought this movie was a good finish to the series. Will Smith did not lose his sense of humour even after doing all of those serious movies. It was somewhat refreshing to see him back in his old element. Josh Brolin was an awesome “Tommy Lee Jones”! haha~ I had quite a few laughs out of this movie.

“Oceans”
I watched Disney Nature: Earth, and this time I wanted to watch Disney Nature: Oceans. I liked Earth much better than Oceans. I had high hopes for Oceans because it’s an unknown world to me. However, the way they directed felt unorganized, and while watching this I’ve never known how much influence the narrator has on documentaries. Pierce Brosnan narrated this movie and I was sooooooooooooooooooooo unimpressed. He may have been the “it” man way back when he was James Bond…but not anymore. I did not enjoy this movie.

“Anchorman”
I wanted to watch the first one in preparation for the sequel. There’s a lot of old style humour in this movie. But, everyone played off of each other well. AND what makes it more hilarious is that it’s based on true events! Haha….oh dear………If you’ve seen Will Farrell comedy, then you’ll know what to expect from this movie.
